Miami, Florida

I lived in Miami, Florida, for six years—a place I didn’t dislike, but one I struggled to connect with. I immersed myself in three things: nature, art, and the people I met along the way. Miami is a strange place—or maybe I was the strange one—because I never quite felt like I fit in. The only way I knew to make sense of it was through photography. I’m not sure what my photos reveal about my time there, but I know my relationship with the city was one of both love and frustration. In the end, everything felt right when I had a camera in my hand.
